Hey friend! If you are visiting this page it means you are really worried about how the coronavirus will affect your wedding day. You may be worried about elderly family members, or how people will travel to your wedding. You might be worried about your own health as well.
One of the last things you want to be worrying about is having to replan your entire wedding.
As a photographer I say all the time that I want to make this process as easy as possible for you. So that’s what I’m trying to do right now.
Please note these suggestions are mainly about wedding photography. Below you'll find info on what the next step should be based on your current situation.
I'm canceling my wedding entirely
Should I be booking vendors for my 2021 wedding
I'm rescheduling my wedding to a later date
Just click whichever below fits you at the moment:
Rescheduling my wedding to a later date
If you choose to reschedule because of COVID-19, please let me know as soon as possible so I can provide you with a list of available dates in 2020 and 2021. We have plenty of availability and flexibility for dates in 2021, so please do not worry about losing me as your photographer.
Furthermore, any amount paid towards your invoice will be applied to your rescheduled event date, so long as the event is rescheduled to take place on or before December 31, 2021, and you will not incur any rescheduling fees or lose payments you have already made. My goal is to help make postponing your wedding day as easy and stress-free as possible for you if this is the route you choose to take.
If you are not an AJ Bride and are looking for another photographer, please reach out! I can help you create a custom collection to fit into your budget.
Unsure if I should be booking vendors for my 2021 wedding
Ok so, you might be like well my wedding is next year, but there is so much uncertainty and fear everywhere I don’t know if I should still plan it.
This is such a hard thing to answer because most wedding vendors do require you to be booked further out since calendars start filling up sooner rather than later.
I would like to make this a tiny bit easier by offering significantly smaller retainer fees. This would allow you to book me for next year, but not be out a larger amount of money up front. The retainer would only be 10% of the total cost up front instead of 25%
I will also allow for very flexible payment plans in case you are budgeting for the weeks you may be stuck at home. I would hate that someone misses out on locking down their date and planning for next year just because they were worried about money.
Canceling my wedding entirely
If you are canceling your wedding I just want to say I am so so sorry this is happening to you. If you are a current AJ bride and this is happening, send me an email as soon as you can.
If you are not an AJ bride, here are some options for you to consider, whether it’s with me or another photographer.
You could do a small elopement ceremony. Depending on how much you can repurpose from your original wedding date, you could have a very very small wedding with just your family.
If you just want to get married at a courthouse and call it a day I understand that! One option could be that you have a dinner reception later in the year when it’s safer.
If you are still looking to have photos done, a day after session might be something to consider. Basically you would get all dressed up in your wedding clothes and take portraits like you would on a wedding day.
I would contact your photographer to ask about pricing if you still want to use them, if you are wondering about using me, I charge $300 for wedding portrait sessions (two hours, full online gallery with high res images, travel fees may apply)

Some articles from wedding blogs that might help you
What happens if we have to cancel completely with you?
In the contract you do agree to pay a nonrefundable deposit. But I have reduced the deposit to only 10% instead of 25% of the total cost of your collection. This is the only amount that I keep in case of cancellations. The rest will be refunded.
What if you get sick?
Here’s to praying neither you or I get sick. However if I did get sick, I do have other photographers I partner with. I would either have my associate photographer shoot your day and I would still handle editing and communication so that you get the same AJ Bride experience OR I would provide a refund and help you find another photographer.
How far out do I need to book? I’m a little scared to book right now.
You honestly do not have to book me very far out. I will say the biggest reason to book further out is because of availability. I’m just one person, and while I do have a small team, we only do one wedding per weekend. You could wait and try to book me a month out, but I cannot guarantee availability without going through the full booking process. I am lowering the retainer fee to only 10% of the total cost.
What steps do you plan on taking to stay safe?
I will be staying in as much as possible. This means all client meetings will be over the phone/skype/email for the next few months.
