Ok so you just got engaged (yay!) and you want to announce it with some beautiful engagement photos! But now you’ve got the whole planning part to do. What should you wear? Where should you go? Well in this post, I wanted to give you some beautiful locations I’ve used in the past for my couples and that I 100% recommend! Just choose the one that speaks to you the most!
Downtown Raleigh
Downtown Raleigh is a classic for any North Carolina girl. There are so many cute spots downtown! If you go to S West St and W Hargett St at sunset, you’ll find some amazing spots that will give you all the glow! And if you get hungry afterward there’s some yummy food right around the corner!
Heirloom Brewshop
Exactly in the same area is the Heirloom Brewshop! This gorgeous cafe was an amazing stop from the above engagement session! If you are going for a lifestyle vibe I totally recommend either this coffee shop or another one of your favs! The brighter the better though so you can get alllllll the pretty light in your photos.
Duke Gardens
Ok, so we are moving away from the city views and into the garden! Duke Gardens is a beautiful spot for engagement photos! If you go around the spring you can get so many gorgeous blooms in your photos!
The Catlett Farm
For all my girls who just love a wide-open scenic backdrop, a farm might be great for you! This particular engagement session was shot at the same farm the couple was going to get married at! So we had the benefit of getting to tour the venue at the same time as we shot their engagement session talk about efficiency!
Downtown Southern Pines
If the small-town life is more your thing, Southern Pines might be the place for you! This couple wanted a slight city feel but without all the crazy! So we chose Southern Pines! This little town is just perfect for pictures! Although we had some rain, the covered train station was the perfect place to start. From their, clear umbrellas were our friend!
JC Raulston Arboretum
Another Raleigh favorite! This sweet spot is beautiful and also huge! There are so many hidden gems in here! You could get a variety of looks without having to drive around the city!
In Your Home
Ok, this one is cool because you don’t have to leave your home! Instead, your photographer can come to you and you can take fun casual lifestyle photos inside! You can always take a walk around the neighborhood if you want a more outside vibe. This option worked well for this couple because they wanted to incorporate their cats in their photos.
Raleigh Rose Garden
This cute hidden gem is perfect because it’s so quiet and hidden! It’s tucked away in one of Raleigh’s beautiful neighborhoods near NC State University. There are many beautiful spots and it’s the perfect choice for a quieter couple who wants to stay out of the spotlight!
Dorothea Dix Park Sunflower Fields
So this one is a little tricky because you do have to choose to have your session during sunflower season. But if you are lucky enough to make it work, the results can be oh so pretty!
The Yard – Downtown Greensboro
So this little gem is tucked behind a museum called Elsewhere in Greensboro. Now this place is pure magic! It’s got gorgeous flowers, a city vibe, wall art, and the perfect light! It’s like it was made just for engagement photos!
10/10 would recommend!
